Shing, Argentum : Jeweller from Singapore
In 1994, Shing started her own jewellery label, Argentum (Latin for silver). The St. Martins-trained artisan makes bodily adornments as extensions of one’s self, not just vacuous decoration to be worn mindlessly.
Her missionary task is to hammer out creations that take on new poetic significance for their wearers. Pieces that enhance and meld with one’s personality are the sole concern. As a matter of fact, she painstakingly crafts each and every piece of her work so that no two pieces are identical.Argentum is currently stocked at The Pineal Eye in London, Gigantic Brand in New York, HPFrance in Tokyo, Ulf Haines in Berlin, Marijuana in Hong Kong and both Club 21 Men and BlackJack in Singapore.
